The village of Williton is situated just of the West Somerset coast with the Quantock hills as its backdrop. At the junction of the A39, A358 and B3191 roads it is a good centre for visitng the Brendon hills, Exmoor and of course the Quantocks. The towns of Watchet and Minehead are near by and a short journey will get you to the towns of Taunton or Bridgwater. Williton is also home to one of the ten stations of the famous West Somerset Railway, the longest private railway in the UK.
Williton Parish Coucil, like every other parish council in England, is a statutory body whose members are elected for a term of four years. The council is an essential part of the structure of local democracy and has a vital role in acting on behalf of the Williton it represent. |
